New Web Site is Now Working

Today, the new Launceston Historical Society web site is fully functional.

The new site has actually been sitting here for some time, but you have not been able to see it. When you type¬†http://launcestonhistory.org.au/¬†into your web browser, it asks a special web site called a Domain Name Server to look up the correct address and take you there. It is the Internet’s phone book, and for the last few days it has been sending you to the wrong place.

Marion sorted it out yesterday, and now everyone can access the new site.

Enjoy!

    • Dear Dr Coleman

I must apologise in that I have only just found your message on the Launceston Historical Society website.

There is an assumption that Morton House was named after the American dentist William Thomas Green Morton (1819-1868) who first publicly demonstrated the use of ether in the USA in 1846.

      Cheers
      Marion
