Today, the new Launceston Historical Society web site is fully functional.
The new site has actually been sitting here for some time, but you have not been able to see it. When you type http://launcestonhistory.org.au/ into your web browser, it asks a special web site called a Domain Name Server to look up the correct address and take you there. It is the Internet’s phone book, and for the last few days it has been sending you to the wrong place.
Marion sorted it out yesterday, and now everyone can access the new site.
The Launceston Historical Society web site has been moved to a new format. It will allow us to inform you of news and events quickly and easily.
It will also allow members to comment on the news posts made here.
It will take some time to get everything set up correctly, so please be patient.
